The main point of this article is to show how some contemporary artists are becoming part of a social movement against the system, they show through their art how empty is our reality, how the media, the people with power or whoever who controls us, make us follow a stupid idea, or a style of live, spending our lives in the must stupid actions, becoming just the slaves of this emptiness.
In a certain point we spend almost all our lives working trying to get the perfect life that we had been manipulated to think this is what we want, this is how it should be, this is the only option, even though inside ourselves we know this is not and would never be what will make us really happy, making every effort for nothing.
In the other hand we can't afford that model of happiness we are following neither the one they impose us, because we are living in a world with levels and the people on the top would not like to lose any customer or any worker, making everything harder to us but showing us that is not that hard we can afford to anything if we sign our sentences to work for life, owning money to companies, to the government, to the bank, etc.
This make us a workers for life, and the interest keeps growing, make us keep attached to them for more years that we believed we would, oh yeah! we forgot to mention you will continue owning even more stuff, because, you are a human you needs to buy more things and more things means new ticket with a lot of interest, making you work more, to pay interest on stuff, and taxes, making you work for nothing.
After this, this is what this artist want to show, we work for nothing!, artist like Tom Friedman, Francis Alys, Gabriel Orozco, etc. Shows in their work how empty our lives become after a while of working a lot of time, to just arrive to pay checks, of interest over interest over taxes and more interest of a house you bought 30 years ago, but now you are just paying this interest, this is the main point all the effort just go straight to the garbage can, with the idea of studying HS, Bachelor, a Master, PH, learning more that 5 languages and find without any chance to have a real work, this is our society, this is our reality the middle class workers works for nothing.
